Answers to Questions (FAQ)
How to calculate a division?
The division functioning must be seen as a separation of a number in smaller quantities in equal parts.
The division can exist exact (separation of 10 elements in piles of 2) or accept a remainder (separation of 10 elements in piles of 3, 1 chemical element remaining), the latter is also chosen Euclidean division.
dCode has a tool for realizing the Euclidean partitioning (with details of calculations).
Example: 10 divided by 5 is denoted 10/five or 10÷5 or $ \frac{x}{5} $ is equal to 2, every bit information technology is possible to split up 10 into 2 equal parts of size 5.
Example: x divided by iv is noted x/4 or 10÷4 or $ \frac{10}{iv} $ is equal to 2.five (2 and a one-half) because it is possible to make 2 piles of iv and a pile of 2 (a half pile of 4)
In the case of a non-exact division, it is possible to round the value with a certain number of digits after the decimal point.
How to brand a segmentation without calculator?
At school the Euclidean sectionalization is taught, which consists of placing a partition by hand, without a computer, with or without a remainder, dCode has a tool for that: Euclidean sectionalization.
How to calculate a division with large numbers?
DCode uses arbitrary precision calculation algorithms to obtain exact values when dividing big numbers, without scientific notation (billions, trillions and more), upwards to 1 million digits.
How to summate an integer division?
An entire division is similar to a Euclidean division, the principle is non to calculate after the decimal bespeak and to ascertain a residuum.
Example: $ 14/3 = 4 $ remainder $ ii $
